Privacy By Design Crowd Counting Tool

Correlation Sensor Systems for Crowd Flow Analysis

The Privacy By Design Crowd Counting Tool uses advanced Correlation Sensor Systems that process anonymous signal attributes received from RF Sensor Systems.

Within the dashboard environment, detected signals are further anonymized and pseudonymized based on signal classification, including BLE, Bluetooth, optional WiFi, and TPMS detections.

This architecture allows the Crowd Counting Tool to perform real-time crowd correlation between multiple Sensor Systems. As a result, operators gain valuable insights into:

  • Crowd movement patterns
  • Directional crowd flow
  • Visitor route analysis
  • Transition patterns between monitored zones
  • Occupancy behavior over time

By combining multiple RF Sensor Systems across an environment, the platform enables organizations to visualize how crowds move through locations in real time.

This functionality is particularly valuable for transportation hubs, event venues, municipalities, and smart city environments where operational flow management and situational awareness are essential.

Privacy By Design Plus Crowd Counting Tool

Preventing Double Counting with Smart RF Detection

The Privacy By Design Plus configuration introduces intelligent duplicate prevention capabilities while maintaining a strong privacy-first design.

This version of the Crowd Counting Tool uses passive BLE and Bluetooth signal detection to identify wireless signals within the monitored environment.

To reduce duplicate crowd detections within a configurable timeframe, the RF Sensor Systems temporarily process anonymous RF signal attributes for a maximum period of 60 minutes. After this timeframe, all temporary signal information is automatically removed.

An anonymous real-time identifier is generated and securely transmitted to the analytics dashboard. This identifier is further pseudonymized based on RF signal classification, including BLE, optional WiFi, and TPMS detections.

The temporary combination of anonymous ID and RF signal classification can be retained for configurable periods ranging from 1 to 24 hours depending on operational requirements.

This intelligent approach enables the Crowd Counting Tool to significantly improve counting accuracy while still preserving strong privacy protections and anonymous processing methodologies.

Privacy By Design Plus Plus Crowd Counting Tool

Maximum Privacy Crowd Counting with RF Signal Detection

The Privacy By Design Plus Plus configuration represents the highest level of privacy protection available within the X•Sensor Systems Crowd Counting Tool & Analytics portfolio.

These RF Sensor Systems operate entirely through passive RF listening techniques using BLE and Bluetooth signal detection. Crowd density is calculated purely based on anonymous signal volume and signal strength measurements within a configurable detection range.

Using advanced signal strength analysis, the system can estimate the approximate distance of detected objects with an accuracy level of approximately 90% within a range of 1 to 30 meters.

Directional antennas can be deployed to create highly accurate monitoring zones and segmented detection areas, allowing organizations to optimize crowd measurement precision across complex environments.

Because anonymization occurs directly at the edge inside the Sensor System itself, this configuration offers the strongest possible privacy guarantees.

Although this setup does not support long-term duplicate prevention or crowd correlation between multiple Sensor Systems, it remains the ideal solution for organizations where maximum privacy compliance is the highest operational priority.
